What band is your router broadcasting information technology's signal on?

The Lyrics operate on the 2.4GHz band. And so if your router doesn't broadcast a 2.4GHz signal you are going to need to upgrade your router – probably to a dual band router then that you can have advantage of both bands. A dual band router broadcasts 2 signals – 1 on the 2.4GHz band, the other on the 5GHz band – each band is useful for different scenarios.

The easiest mode to check the signal broadcast by your router is to check the connexion properties of 1 of your existing devices (eg your telephone or tablet) to the router. Navigate to your device'due south WiFi connexion properties, and amongst the backdrop you should see something similar

You lose some of the "smart" features – like geofencing and shortcuts, and the convenience of being able to manage the Lyric from your device (at home, or remotely when abroad from home), and some features that are only available in the app (similar Vacation Settings) – just the Lyric is even so an effective programmable thermostat – even without connecting to WiFi.
